CEDEPA Awards Outstanding Students in Tolon District on Ghana’s 68th Independence Day
The Center for Development and Policy Advocacy (CEDEPA), a non-governmental organization in the Northern Region, marked Ghana’s 68th Independence Day by recognizing ten outstanding students from the Tolon District for their academic excellence. In collaboration with Adamfo Ghana, a Netherlands-based charity, CEDEPA has launched a transformative initiative titled Skills Training for Street-connected Young Girls Project. This two-year program, which began in 2024, provides 35 vulnerable young girls with vocational training in weaving, computer skills, phone repairs, and Multi TV installation and repairs. CEDEPA Ghana officially launched the second phase of the Promoting Child Rights and Equal Opportunities for Children in the Streets and Other Vulnerable Situations in Ghana project. Child Protection Committee in Kotingli Holds Community Town Hall Meeting
On Monday, February 24, 2025, CEDEPA was invited by the Child Protection Committee (CPC) of the Kotingli Community to a Town Hall meeting at the Chief's Palace. We attended the meeting with the Head Community Development at the Department of Social Welfare(DSW) of the Tamale Metro Assembly, because the Tamale Metro DSW has jurisdiction over the Kotingli Community. The Centre for Development and Policy Advocacy (CEDEPA-Ghana) has called on Ghana's major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to fine-tune their social protection policies, which are targeting street-connected children and kayayei girls, if elected in the 2024 elections.
